Paladin vs Anti-Paladin

guest post by Basilisk

Paladins are holy knights, motivated by altruism and a drive to bring glory to their god. Their alignment is lawful good, meaning they have a strict code and perform only beneficial deeds. They are also devout, righteously serving a bénéficient higher power.

Paladins have special abilities that regular fighters don’t have: detecting evil, healing, blessing.
The Anti-Paladin is the mirror image, a warrior who serves a dark deity and who is chaotic evil in nature. They also have powers but it is to cause harm and curse others.

I have observed an interesting parallel between these D&D classes and the Tanster’s fights against various scammers.

Having closely followed Tanster’s projects these last few years I have seen her develop into a Paladin. She has high numbers in all her stats, she serves a benevolent higher power and she strives to do good.

Tanster is selfless, she is sacrificial, she can heal others, she can bless others, she can detect evil. She is fearless.

The two are anti-theses of each other and they fit this classic D&D model pretty accurately. Just one of the many things I have found interesting in the Tanster Project.
