Napoleon is getting even more uneasy about Josephine’s faithfulness.

Napoleon really changes his tune by 1814 about his brother Joseph. I plan to share Napoleon’s letters to Marie Louise in the future. In those letters, Napoleon tells Marie Louise that Joseph has an evil reputation with women and that she must not be found alone with him. Ultimately however, Joseph never betrays Napoleon. In the letter below, Napoleon mentions a piece Josephine should read relating to his beloved Ossian. A link about Carthon is here. It’s worth noting that Napoleon alludes to telepathy. Napoleon is also starting to express his love for Hortense.
