Here is an instance in the Bible where people were asking real prophets to act like a fake ones.

You know a false prophet by their results. When a person has a crowd of people complaining they were harmed by a self proclaimed spiritual leader - that is their results. That shows the Truth about that individual.

It is interesting that this passage even refers to how people will ask for lies (in this case “positivity”) from a spiritual leader if those deceptions are not forthcoming.
