The legal doctrine res ipsa loquitur is about how something speaks for itself. If a crowd of people complains they were ripped off and deceived by a self proclaimed spiritual leader, then it speaks for itself that they must have been harmed and there is a problem in evidence. There simply wouldn’t be a crowd volunteering congruent stories about the same fraud otherwise.
