Written by Fred Ebb and John Kander, the song more formally known as “(Theme From) New York, New York.” is famously sung by the legendary Frank Sinatra.

In this episode, Elvis Costello sings a soulful rendition of his beautiful song, “Rocking Horse Road.” Miranda adds some mermaid spice. Interestingly, the Brodsky Quartet, including founding members Ian Belton and Jacqueline Thomas, have an album with the title Rocking Horse Road.

Written by Elton John and his long time writing partner Bernie Taupin, “Your Song”. Miranda has always loved this one. Immense gratitude goes out to this creative pair.

In 1986 Elvis Costello toured under the stage name Napoleon Dynamite for his album “Blood and Chocolate”. One of the great songs off that album was “Uncomplicated”.

Michael Jackson and his brothers, Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon performed the beautiful and amazing song, “I’ll Be There” as The Jackson 5. Miranda has always loved this song.

Rammstein’s song “Radio” is a testament to the subversive power of music that can effectively undermine restrictive authoritarian rulers. That makes it right up Miranda’s alley.

Totally awesome German rock band Rammstein has a lot of great hits and a lot of extremely cool videos. One of them is for the song “Haifisch” which has several callbacks to earlier Rammstein videos. These guys know how to rock.

The inspirational and ultra-talented Dolly Parton wrote and performed the fun, catchy and brimming with truth song, “Woman Up (And Take It Like A Man).” Have you been to Dollywood lately?

Jimmy Fallon sings on one of the great songs from the hit musical, Hamilton, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. “You’ll Be Back” is very clever and fun. Miranda has a good time with this one.
“We Didn’t Start The Fire”
Billy Joel delivered a powerful indictment on the state of the culture in America in his powerful rock song, “We Didn’t Start The Fire.” Miranda is proud to join in.
“Wise Up Ghost”
“Wise Up Ghost” is intense. It was written by Elvis Costello, Ahmir Thompson and Steven Mandel. Elvis performs it with The Roots at the Brooklyn Bowl.
“Woman In The White House”
The dazzling Sheryl Crow has released a bold song that suggests a better future for America. “Woman In The White House” is a call to action. For the record, we would also be cool with a mermaid in the White House.
“Adieu”
The tansmetal German rock band Rammstein released an incredible, theatrical video for their song “Adieu.” Miranda is happy to join their cult.
“I’m Free”
Rock legends, The Who, released a movie called Tommy back in 1975. It featured the powerful anthem, “I’m Free.” Miranda thinks it would make a great theme song.
“Set Fire To The Rain”
For the debut of her brand new show, Miranda is giddy to join on one of her favorite songs with the most amazing Adele.
