Tonight marks a very interesting, and quite rare, astronomical phenomenon. The moon is full but will disappear from the sky. If I receive one million dollars, I will bring it back.
Just kidding, of course. The moon turning dark is a perfectly natural event, one which I have no control over. You see, periodically the Earth will move between the sun and moon, meaning no light reaches the moon which makes it hard to see.
Due to the minimal lighting, the moon also appears to be red during the phases of the eclipse. This leads people to refer to it as “blood moon”, mostly because people have a tendency to be dramatic.
Now in terms of astrology, this lunar eclipse is happening in the star sign of Scorpio, a star sign co-ruled by Mars and Pluto.
The traits of Scorpio are fearlessness, boldness, creativity, passion and loyalty. The moon generally influences our emotion, intuition, memory and compassion. When the moon is full, those aspects are maximized. When the moon is eclipsed, those elements can become introverted. Occuring in Scorpio, as this full eclipse does, will magnify the traits of Scorpio causing them to impact us even more strongly. We can therefore expect to feel noticeably passionate and creative tonight.
