I’ve been steadily practicing to unlock the knowledge in Koand’s very impressive audiobook How To Play Guitar and Y - available on audible.
When I play the G chord it usually sounds okay. The C chord rings less well in my hands but it’s at least in the neighborhood.
The D chord is still sounding choked and I’m failing at getting it to ring nicely most of the time. Part of the idea, if I’m understanding correctly, is to use a capo to play in a key other than C to avoid having to play chords that are too discouraging at first - like that chord of F - so that beginner can get playing.
I recently posted that perhaps I was applying the capo badly and I found a video that went into detail about the correct procedure there.
The last time I applied myself at learning guitar, back around 2017, I found Andy Guitar videos on a YouTube to be very helpful. I’m attaching here an Andy Guitar tutorial on how to play the Chord of D. Hopefully I can find where the error lies in my technique.
Above you can watch the part of How To Play Guitar And Y that I am working on learning.
