Have you noticed that instruction manuals have really nose-dived the last couple of years? It used to be, back in the good old days, that a DIY kit would come with some easy to follow, thorough instructions. Now the manuals have only two or three lines and they can be a bit challenging to decipher.
What this tells me is that the people writing these things don’t have English as their primary language. That’s because everything we’re buying lately comes from China.
So why is all the stuff being made in China? Because it’s cheaper. Why is it cheaper, you ask? Some groups claim it is because China is using slave labor. Saving on productions costs is a savings passed on to the consumer. It’s kind of a win-win. Except for the involuntary, under compensated labor, of course.
It kind of reminds me of England back in the 16, 17, 18 hundreds. They ruled the world. The British military ships and all the criminal pirate fleets the British government paid for controlled the oceans. They had colonies all over the world. Sure, Spain had claimed some of the really choice stuff early on. Their country imploded though leaving Britain undisputed King. They had a virtual monopoly on global trade. That’s what Napoleon Bonaparte was fighting for 10 years, by the way.
England was partners with organized crime. They used slave labor all over the planet to support their economy. English people are quick to tell you that slavery wasn’t allowed for England. I’m sure Americans are probably telling themselves something similar.
What’s the difference?
