I wanted to commemorate that yesterday but I had no internet connection.
I’ve been looking over Thom Yorke’s natal astrological chart.
It’s interesting that he has Sun on his ascendant in Libra. Libra is ruled by Venus and Thom is a very famous artist. Not too far from that Sun we see Uranus - the planet of technology and revolution in the 12th house, a space of spirit and isolation.
In the first house, an emphasis is placed on what could be media war - Mercury (thinking and communication) with Pallas Athena (cultured just war). Pallas Athena/Mercury are opposite an intense stellium in the 7th house of partners and enemies. What we find in the space of partners and enemies is the changeable and watery Moon along with Saturn (work/restriction/self doubt), Pars Fortuna (luck) and Vesta (sacred fire/devotion).
Looks like Thom may deal with patterns of being with or against difficult emotional zealots who may be persevering and/or restrictive - for good or ill.
Thom has a stellium in the second house of values - ruled by Venus - comprised of Venus (beauty), Juno (Justice, serious relationships), Ceres (nurturing) and Neptune (water, spirit). This would imply that Thom’s values very much center around culture and a love of beauty. The placement of Neptune further emphasizes musical talent as being central to his work. This stellium is in the constellation of Scorpio which points to a willingness to fight for what he values and Scorpio is very willful and ruled by Mars and Pluto, the energy is a bit bellicose.
Another indicator of information activism can be seen in the placement of Black Moon Lilith (protest, vengeance) in Gemini (communications) in the 8th house (connected with determined Scorpio). Thom is associated with the song Karma Police, a piece awash with this sort of energy.
Thom has been innovative in relation to groups and technology by taking a generous stance regarding Napster file sharing back in the 90s. He is also known for distributing some of his work for free.
We can see that trailblazing in the stellium that we find in the 11th house which is a place of philanthropy pertaining to the public - ruled by Uranus. We see generosity as educational Jupiter is in the 11th house in Virgo (service and communications). Mars and Pluto in the 11th house also show a will to take transformative action when it comes to sharing and educating (Jupiter).
A look at this chart gives us a snapshot of some who is deeply cultured, a spiritual warrior and someone with strong tendencies towards philanthropy and benevolence.
