By pure coincidence, the NY Times decided to let us all know this week that Henry Kissinger wasn’t the bad guy warmonger causing hundreds of thousands of death in Southeast Asia back in the 70s. Turns out Robert McNamara was actually the villain, lying to the American people and Congress about how the conflict he was organizing was going in Vietnam. Why is the Times offering up a scapegoat/distraction now about something that happened decades ago? Good question.
