Hortense did not object in any way when Napoleon insisted on naming all three of her sons Napoleon. When the man below was born, his father wanted to name him after himself. Napoleon switched it up and put his own name first. Hortense raised the one son she was able to rear completely to vindicate her stepfather - which he mostly managed to do as Napoleon III.
