Either I allow it or I don’t. The choice is mine. Once you learn the tricky patterns, it’s easy to tell who means us harm. Bad people are the nicest and most wonderful and generous out there - at first. They are just leaping to help and do public acts of charity. Having been targeted by them so assiduously throughout this project has really taught me that. Actual good people don’t have to conjure up that act like their everything depends on it. Actual good people don’t make you feel like it’s a big show.
A good example of this big fake show comes to us from the Napoleon Memoirs. Tzar Alexander is always doing somersaults to create the impression that he’s just so so good. His handsomeness really helped him sell it.
