Was Josephine lying to Napoleon to avoid seeing him?

I’m getting ready to start broadcasting Napoleon’s Memoirs as told to Count Las Cases. In that work, Napoleon talks about women, particularly his wives, a great deal. Napoleon is generally viewed as a sexist type of guy but if he could come off that way (and he could), it was the coverup of a man who really loved women and found himself a bit helpless in that area.

Napoleon was devastated by what Josephine did to him and he does complain about her lying in his memoirs. The truth is that he was highly controlling of Marie Louise so she couldn’t cheat on him even if wanted to. She was supervised. Marie Louise also flew out the door the first chance she got and jumped into the arms of an experienced seducer, leaving Napoleon as nothing but a distant memory. Actions are what reveal the truth about these grand historical personages.
