I was a lonely somewhat neglected child who spent way too much time in front of a television. I was very drawn to the shows about this evil Adolph Hitler guy. The clothes, the parades, the cars, it all just looked so theatrical. Then the TV would drum it into my head over and over that Germans were evil. And that the US were heroic saviors of the world. I never bought that story. Not really. Yes I was brainwashed but it doesn’t totally consume everyone like I’m sure they want it to.
I was part of the tiny minority of “nonwhite” families in a very white working class town, Hampton Bays, NY.
I could just feel some of the teachers felt contempt for my even existing in this town. Apart from a few creeps, I was very well treated by my more Nordic friends. I’m mostly Portuguese and people laugh at me when I tell them I grew up not viewing myself as white. It’s all just SO RIDICULOUS.
I was around what I viewed as “Germans” all the time. I knew they were no different. Later in life, I came to have past life memories from WW2. Yes, I’m weird. I remember Dresden during the war and my memories of Dresden end on the second day of the TERRORISM that Britain and the United States inflicted upon that beautiful city of rich history and culture. I think I MAY have been around 15 at that time, February 1945. My memories are detailed and I went to Dresden to find out what would happen.
I got MAD is what happened. That’s when I realized THEY CAN’T KILL ME.
There are stories that the media TRIES to FORCE us to uphold - or else. When some of us saw incongruities in the Stoneman Douglas story, Jimmy Kimmel got on tv and seemed to incite violence against us as he repeatedly called us “scumbags”. Look in the mirror Mr. Kimmel.
When a guy on TV gets teary and simultaneously abusive from the Hollywood Masonic Lodge, well, please forgive me if I take a peek behind the curtain.
This post below reminded me of the sick behavior and ABUSE that we have endured from the media.
I see narcissistic abuse as something that can happen in a couple, a family or any sort of institution.
